Beef Donburi
I am completely addicted to the beef bowl in Aoki. Just imagine melt-in-the-mouth beef slices (Medium doneness for me) over warm Japanese rice topped with a wobbling soft-boiled egg and negi. YUMS.

The happiness bowl comes in 3 sizes – 50g, 70g & 100g of beef. Take my advice and just go for the largest portion. It is pretty pricey at $105 but it’s worth every dollar.  My recommended pairing for the beef bowl is hot sake!

I love the counter seats in Aoki. I find it extremely therapeutic to watch the chefs prepare the food and hear the conversations around you.

Dessert Trio (Ice Cream, Mochi and Jelly)

It is impossible to leave Aoki without having their famous dessert trio ($6). I love picking the ice cream flavour from the interesting choices like tofu, cherry blossom, sesame etc.

I enjoyed every meal in Aoki and much prefer this old establishment as compared to the likes of Shinji or Waku Ghin.

I can safely conclude that Aoki is my favourite Japanese restaurant in Singapore. :)
